Directions by Car
Take exit 32 off Route 93. Proceed on Route 60 West (Salem Street) to second light (Medford Square). Turn left to enter Main Street going South. You will go over the Mystic River and under an overpass. After about a block, bear right at the Mobil Station to stay on Main Street, and turn right at the blinking light onto George Street (there is a park with a brick/iron fence at that corner). Proceed one half block to the museum. Free on-street parking is available on George Street and other nearby streets; please obey signs regarding resident permit restrictions.
Public Transportation
Take the MBTA Green Line Extension Eastbound to Medford/Tufts station, then walk 0.4 miles to the museum. With the Joyce Cummings Center on your left, walk north on College Avenue to the intersection of George Street, turn right, and arrive at the Royall House and Slave Quarters on the left.
Take the MBTA Bus 96 from Harvard Square or Davis Square (both on the Red Line) to the “George Street and Main Street” stop: MBTA Bus 96 Schedule. The Royall House and Slave Quarters is visible behind Royall Park on George Street.
Take the MBTA Bus 101 from Malden Center or Sullivan Square (both on the Orange Line) to the “George Street and Main Street” stop: MBTA Bus 101 Schedule.
